The Prep Is The Job

A coated floor is only as good as the concrete under it, so we quote off the slab's actual condition. Clean, sound concrete is straightforward. A spalled or previously-sealed slab is a different job, and we'd rather tell you that up front than after the first coat lifts.

Quoted on site

Sound familiar?

  • A garage slab that's dusty, stained or flaking
  • Basement concrete that's cracked and hard to keep clean
  • An old coating that's peeling off in sheets

What's included

  • Slab condition assessed before quoting
  • Surface cleaned and prepared for coating
  • Coating applied to the prepped area, including edges
  • Existing floor drains kept clear and working

Not included

  • A price before we've seen the slab
  • Structural crack or slab replacement
  • Waterproofing, drain tile or moisture-intrusion work
  • Coating over a slab we've told you isn't a good candidate

Photos that help us quote accurately

  • The whole floor from a doorway or corner
  • Close-ups of cracks, flaking or pitting
  • Any area that's been sealed or painted before
  • Floor drains, if the space has one

Photos are from our own completed jobs in Central Wisconsin. We don't publish stock photography, and we don't show a “before and after” unless both photos are the same property.

How the price works

This work is quoted after we look at it, so there's no price on this page to misread. You get the number in writing before anything starts — never after.

  • No surprise trip or fuel fees
  • No hourly meter running while a pro diagnoses
  • No work beyond what you approved without asking first
  • No pressure, no fake countdowns, no bait pricing

Common questions

Why does my floor need to be looked at first?

Because prep is most of the work and prep depends entirely on what the slab is doing. Our work page shows a slab spalled down to loose aggregate — no online estimator can price that.

Will a coating stop my basement from getting wet?

No, and we won't tell you otherwise. A floor coating is a surface finish. Water coming in is a separate problem and a different trade.

Can you coat around a floor drain?

Yes — we keep drains open rather than coating over them. There's a photo of exactly that on our work page.
